This is a real-time environment, running in Unreal Engine 4, of a 1940s era detective's office. It was created as part of a 12-week university project, using 3DS Max for the models and Substance Designer for the materials - as well as the Unreal Editor, of course. There was also a bit of Photoshop and a little tiny bit of Marvelous Designer.
The aim was to create a realistic-looking environment and it is easily the most ambitious environmental project I have ever undertaken. I enjoyed it more than I expected to and really liked weaving a second-hand narrative into the scene, in the form of world-building through object-placement and narrative elements such as the case-files.
